Since its foundation on November 24th 1979, SEMICROL has led an important number of ICT projects for the industry and the business fields, as well as for the public and institutional sector. Over its long history, our company has constantly strived to apply the most emergent technologies while maintaining a high level of innovation. This has allowed our clients to obtain solutions which have significantly elevated their competitiveness.

SEMICROL’s development and growth is based on our vertical solutions strategy. This is focused on sectors in which we have conducted singular and successful projects. Our role is to develop the evolutions of these projects according to the emergence and innovation of new supported business processes. Consequently, SEMICROL’s current growth strategies are geared towards the evolution of already developed products which can fit in the market because they are particularly functional and innovative in their sectors and because they offer evolution prospects for the future.

SEMICROL develops important services for its clients in a constant pursuit of business excellence and competitiveness. This includes developing collaborative tools to promote the transfer and management of knowledge and turning this knowledge into a strategic asset for an organization, as well as incorporating or improving mobile applications which bring technology “to the field” and enable full control and integration of data. This, in turn, results in the optimization of industrial and business processes.

Our highly qualified staff is expressly dedicated to the development of R+D+i. We employ a team of nearly fifty highly educated staff, who combine a wide technical knowledge with a deep understanding of the business world and multiple business models.

 MISSION

Our MISSION is to offer services of Consultancy, Analysis, Design, Construction, Implementation and Maintenance of computer systems and applications based on Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) geared towards the following key business areas:

  • Project Management for Foundations, Research Institutions, Research and R+D+i Centres, Technical Offices for projects, NGOs and all sorts of organizations whose main activity focuses on project management.
  • University Management (academic, human resources, research and economic fields), focusing especially on self-service solutions through the Internet.
  • ERP systems for crane hiring companies.
  • ERP systems for packaging companies.
  • Solutions and tailor-made projects offering an added value (i.e. having the possibility of becoming products and featuring an innovative character) aimed at large corporations as well as at universities and institutions (governments, town councils, foundations, etc.)

The basic indicator of SEMICROL’s bet for Quality has always been our clear and determined orientation to achieving our clients’ maximum satisfaction. We consider Quality is a strategic factor for competitive development in our business, and consequently, we constantly seek to offer high-quality products to our Clients and meet their expectations.

This commitment is adopted by all the members of our organization, who are well aware of the fact that their involvement and sense of responsibility is crucial in achieving this goal. SEMICROL offers a Quality Department, whose staff is entirely dedicated to managing and assuring the Quality of the products and services developed and implemented by the company.

Because it would not make sense otherwise, SEMICROL believes that Clients are the ultimate judges of our Quality and their judgement is our final score. In order to be better day by day, SEMICROL implements, evolves and develops its activities according to its Management System, based on the following standards:

  • ISO 9001:2000 Standard All the processes related to operations, strategies, support and work methodology in our daily activities are defined according to the requirements of this standard. The Management System has been defined as a highly process-oriented model and was certified under this world-class standard by Bureau Veritas in 2007 for the following scope:“Consultancy, Analysis, Design, Construction, Implementation and Maintenance of Computer Systems and Applications”.
  • EFQM Model. This European model has been adopted as a reference standard in our pursuit to bring continuous improvement and management excellence. This excellence is pursued in the action policies, results and performance of the organization and it is always geared towards the related interest groups (Clients, SEMICROL’s staff, Allies, Partners and the Society in general) in a sustained manner and with an approach based on criteria of Total Quality. We think that “it is not enough to claim you are the best. You have to prove it.” Therefore, SEMICROL carries out EFQM self-assessments every two years in order to analyze the strengths and improvable areas of the organization, which will define the action lines of our Strategic Plans.
  • METRICS Methodology v.3.When defining the detailed operational processes integrated in the Management System and related to consultancy and ICT development activities, we use this Methodology as a reference for Planning, Development and Maintenance of Information Systems, developed by the High Council of Electronic Administration of the Spanish Ministry of Public Administrations.
  • CMMi model.With the aim of optimizing operational processes we have adopted this maturity model for software development of the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute. We are currently working on the implementation of the Level 2 practices in order to certify our chain of consultancy and creation of computer products in CMMi2.
